Alfred Matthew "Weird Al" Yankovic, born on October 23, 1959, is a multifaceted American entertainer celebrated for his unique blend of music, comedy, and satire. Renowned for his witty parodies of popular songs, Yankovic began his musical journey with his first comedy track in 1976. Over the years, he has sold over 12 million albums (as of 2007) and created more than 150 original and parody songs, captivating audiences with over 1,000 live performances. His exceptional work has garnered him three Grammy Awards from nine nominations, in addition to four gold and six platinum records in the U.S.
Yankovic's innovative use of music videos has played a significant role in his success, as he often parodies not only the songs but also their original artists and accompanying videos, sometimes mirroring them scene-for-scene.
