Bill Paterson

William Tulloch Paterson, born on June 3, 1945, in Glasgow, Scotland, is a distinguished actor celebrated for his extensive contributions to film, television, and radio. Raised in Dennistoun by a plumber father and a hairdresser mother, Paterson's passion for acting ignited during a 1961 school visit to the Citizens Theatre in Gorbals. Initially, he pursued a career in architecture, working as a quantity surveyor's apprentice for three years before redirecting his focus to the performing arts by enrolling at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

Paterson's prolific career is marked by a wide range of notable performances. His film credits include significant roles in "Comfort and Joy" (1984), "Truly, Madly, Deeply" (1990), and "Amazing Grace" (2006). He has also made memorable appearances in acclaimed television series such as "Auf Wiedersehen, Pet" (1986), "Doctor Who" (2010), and "Outlander" (2014). His recent work includes parts in "Fleabag" (2016–2019), "Good Omens" (2019), and "House of the Dragon" (2022).
