

Brent Spiner
Brent Jay Spiner, born on February 2, 1949, in Houston, Texas, is a distinguished American actor celebrated primarily for his iconic role as Lieutenant Commander Data, an android, in the acclaimed television series Star Trek: The Next Generation, along with four associated films. His exceptional performance in Star Trek: First Contact and his role as Dr. Brackish Okun in the blockbuster Independence Day (both released in 1996) earned him a Saturn Award and a nomination for another Saturn Award, respectively.
Beyond his work in film and television, Spiner has also made significant contributions to the theater scene and has pursued a career in music.
Raised in a Jewish household, Spiner was born to Sylvia and Jack Spiner, who owned a furniture store. After the passing of his father, he was adopted by his mother's second husband, Sol Mintz, taking on his surname until 1975. He attended Bellaire High School in Texas, where he became an active member of the Bellaire Speech team, ultimately securing a national championship in dramatic interpretation. Spiner later continued his artistic journey at the University of Houston, where he showcased his talents in local theater productions, laying the foundation for a remarkable career in the performing arts.
