Brian Blessed OBE, born on October 9, 1936, is a celebrated English actor renowned for his vibrant personality, powerful voice, and iconic bushy beard. His illustrious career spans decades and includes a variety of memorable roles. Blessed gained early recognition for his portrayal of PC "Fancy" Smith in the classic series Z-Cars, followed by his unforgettable performance as Augustus in the acclaimed 1976 BBC adaptation of I, Claudius. He also played King Richard IV in the first series of Blackadder and brought the character of Prince Vultan to life in the cult classic Flash Gordon.

In the realm of musical theatre, Blessed showcased his talent as Bustopher Jones and Old Deuteronomy in the original 1981 London production of Cats. His stage prowess extended to Shakespeare, where he took on the role of Thomas Beaufort, Duke of Exeter, in the production of Henry V. Blessed’s film credits include Boss Nass in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace and the iconic voice of Clayton in Disney's Tarzan, famously known for the Tarzan yell.
