Christopher "Chris" Tucker, born on August 31, 1971, is a renowned American actor and comedian celebrated for his portrayal of Detective James Carter in the Rush Hour series and his role as Smokey in the 1995 film Friday. Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, he was raised in Decatur as the youngest of three sons to Mary Louise and Norris Tucker. After completing his education at Columbia High School, he relocated to Los Angeles to chase his dreams in comedy and film. Tucker gained prominence through his appearances on Def Comedy Jam in 1992 and made his feature film debut with House Party 3. His breakout role came in Friday alongside Ice Cube. Notable films include Money Talks and The Fifth Element. He is also known for his collaboration with Jackie Chan in the Rush Hour trilogy. A close friend of Michael Jackson, Tucker has appeared in Jackson's music video and attended his memorial. In 2009, he took part in the NBA All-Star Weekend's Celebrity Game.
