Christopher Peter Meloni, born on April 2, 1961, is a prominent American actor renowned for his compelling performances in both television and film. He gained widespread acclaim for his portrayal of NYPD Detective Elliot Stabler on the hit NBC series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, a role he held until 2013.
