Deborah Ann Ryan, commonly known as Debby Ryan, was born on May 13, 1993, and is an American actress and singer. Her journey into acting began at the young age of seven in professional theater. In 2007, she made her on-screen debut in the direct-to-DVD film, Barney: Let's Go to the Firehouse, which led to her being discovered by Disney through a nationwide casting call. She gained further recognition for her role as Edith in the 2008 film The Longshots.

Ryan became a familiar face on television from 2008 to 2011 when she portrayed Bailey Pickett on The Suite Life on Deck. In 2010, she starred in the Disney Channel movie 16 Wishes, which became the most-viewed cable broadcast on its premiere day. The film significantly broadened her audience, attracting high ratings among adults aged 18 to 34. Following this, Ryan appeared in the independent feature film What If..., released on August 20, 2010.

From 2011 to 2015, Ryan took on the lead role of Jessie in the Disney Channel original series of the same name, where she also directed an episode that aired on May 15, 2015. Additionally, in 2012, she starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie Radio Rebel, where she played Tara Adams, a reserved teenager who transforms into the outspoken radio host, Radio Rebel.
