

Diego Luna
Diego Dionisio Luna Alexander, born on December 29, 1979, is a celebrated Mexican actor, director, and producer. He gained widespread recognition for his role as Cassian Andor in the film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) and the subsequent Disney+ series Andor (2022-2025), for which he received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Television Series Drama.
Luna’s career took off in Mexican telenovelas before he made a name for himself with the critically acclaimed film Y tu mamá también in 2001. Throughout the 2000s, he appeared in a variety of movies across both Mexican and American cinema, including Frida, Open Range, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, The Terminal, Criminal, Milk, Sólo quiero caminar, and Rudo y Cursi. In the following decade, he featured in the science fiction film Elysium, the comedy Casa de mi Padre, and the animated musical The Book of Life. From 2018 to 2020, Luna portrayed drug lord Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo in the series Narcos: Mexico.
In addition to acting, he has been involved in numerous theatrical productions in Mexico and has produced various film and television works, often collaborating with Gael García Bernal. Since 2010, he has directed three feature films: Abel, Cesar Chavez, and Mr. Pig. He created and directed the docu-series Back Home for Fusion TV in 2013, the Amazon Studios talk show Pan y Circo in 2020, and the Netflix scripted series Everything Will Be Fine in 2021. In 2025, Time magazine recognized Luna as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
