Edward Harrison Norton, born on August 18, 1969, is a multifaceted American actor, producer, director, and screenwriter. After earning a degree in history from Yale College in 1991, he briefly lived in Japan before relocating to Manhattan to chase his passion for acting. Norton's breakthrough came with his role in *Primal Fear* (1996), which garnered him a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor and an Academy Award nomination.

His portrayal of a reformed neo-Nazi in *American History X* (1998) earned him another Academy Award nod, this time for Best Actor, solidifying his reputation as a powerful performer. Norton also gained a devoted following through his role in the cult classic *Fight Club* (1999). In 2003, he founded Class 5 Films, contributing to his directorial and producing efforts in projects like *Keeping the Faith* (2000) and *The Painted Veil* (2006).
