Glenda Veronica Close, born on March 19, 1947, is a distinguished American actress whose extraordinary career spans more than fifty years across film, television, and theater. Close has garnered a remarkable array of awards, including three Primetime Emmy Awards, three Tony Awards, and three Golden Globe Awards, along with eight Oscar nominations, two BAFTA nominations, and three Grammy nominations. In 2019, she was recognized by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people worldwide.

Her impressive filmography includes iconic performances that earned her Academy Award nominations for roles in films such as *The World According to Garp* (1982), *Fatal Attraction* (1987), and *The Wife* (2017). Additionally, she portrayed memorable characters in *Reversal of Fortune* (1990), *Air Force One* (1997), and voiced Kala in Disney's *Tarzan* (1999). Close is also well-known for her chilling portrayal of Cruella de Vil in *101 Dalmatians* (1996) and its sequel.
