Harrison Ford
Harrison Ford, the iconic figure of Hollywood, was born on July 13, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Coming from a family with ties to the entertainment industry, Ford attended high school in Park Ridge, where he became involved with the school’s radio station, WMTH, serving as the lead sports reporter. His passion for acting ignited during his junior year at Ripon College when he enrolled in an acting class. In 1964, Ford moved to California, initially seeking a voice-over role, but instead signed a contract with Columbia Pictures, earning $150 weekly for minor parts.
Throughout the 1960s, he appeared in several television series, such as Gunsmoke and Kung Fu. His first credited film role came in 1967, but after feeling unsatisfied with the limited opportunities, he took a break to work as a carpenter. This led to a significant opportunity with producer George Lucas, landing him legendary roles as Han Solo and Indiana Jones. With over 40 films to his name, Ford remains a private individual who cherishes his family life, including five children and a recent adoption with his wife, Calista Flockhart. Beyond acting, he is dedicated to environmental advocacy, aviation, and archaeology
