

Jay Karnes
Jay Karnes, born on June 27, 1963, in Omaha, Nebraska, is an accomplished American actor. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1989. Karnes gained significant recognition for his portrayal of L.A.P.D. Detective Holland "Dutch" Wagenbach in the critically acclaimed FX drama series The Shield, which concluded its seventh season on November 25, 2008. In the same year, he took on a recurring role as ATF Agent Josh Kohn in the FX series Sons of Anarchy, created by Kurt Sutter, who was also behind The Shield. In this role, Karnes played an antagonist to Jax Teller and his occasional love interest, Tara Knowles.
Throughout his career, he has appeared in various films, including The Joyriders (1999) and The Next Best Thing (2000), with notable recent projects like Chasing 3000 and Broken Angel, both released in 2008. As of 2011, Karnes was featured in the second season of the television series V (2009) and was anticipated to return as a principal character in the third season.
In addition to these roles, he has made guest appearances on numerous television programs such as Frasier, Judging Amy, and House. Karnes also portrayed Lieutenant Ducane in the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Relativity." Notably, he had a recurring role as Tyler Brennen on Burn Notice, where he depicted a villainous gunrunner known for kidnapping. In the mid-1990s, he was a member of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, performing in classics like Love's Labours Lost and Arcadia.
