Jenny Slate

Jenny Slate, born on March 25, 1982, is a multifaceted American actress, comedian, and author. She initially made her mark in television through various acting and stand-up performances before gaining prominence with her live variety shows in New York City. Slate is notably the co-creator, writer, and producer of the beloved children's short film and book series, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, which has been ongoing since 2010. Her visibility soared when she joined the cast of NBC's iconic sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live during its 35th season, where she performed from 2009 to 2010. Following this, she took on significant roles in popular comedic series, including Bob's Burgers (2012–present), Parks and Recreation (2013–2015), House of Lies (2013–2015), and Kroll Show (2013–2015).

Slate's career reached new heights with her standout performance in the coming-of-age comedy-drama Obvious Child (2014), which earned her the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Actress in a Comedy, alongside nominations for both the Independent Spirit Award and the Gotham Independent Film Award. She has also contributed her voice to several animated hits such as The Lorax (2012), Zootopia (2016), and the Despicable Me 3 (2017).
