Jessie Buckley, born on December 28, 1989, is a talented Irish actress and singer. Her remarkable work has earned her a Laurence Olivier Award, as well as nominations for an Academy Award and three BAFTA Awards.

Buckley embarked on her journey in the entertainment industry in 2008 when she was a contestant on the BBC talent competition I’d Do Anything, finishing in second place. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), she quickly began featuring in various BBC television series, including War & Peace (2016) and Taboo (2017). She made her film debut with a leading role in the critically acclaimed Beast (2017), followed by her breakout performance in the musical film Wild Rose (2018), where she portrayed an aspiring country music singer, earning a BAFTA nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role.

Her career continued to flourish with prominent roles in notable productions such as the HBO miniseries Chernobyl (2019), I'm Thinking of Ending Things (2020), season four of Fargo (2020), The Lost Daughter (2021), Men (2022), and Women Talking (2022). Her role in The Lost Daughter garnered nominations for both the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role and the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Additionally, her portrayal of Sally Bowles in a 2021 revival of Cabaret on the West End secured her the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical.

In 2022, she collaborated with Bernard Butler to release the album For All Our Days That Tear the Heart, which was shortlisted for the prestigious Mercury Prize.
