He gained significant recognition as Vinnie O'Neill in the Sky One dramedy series **Brassic**, and as Eli Dingle in the popular ITV soap **Emmerdale**. Prior to these roles, he portrayed Jamie Armstrong on the long-standing ITV show **Coronation Street** and captured audiences as Woody in the critically acclaimed film **This Is England** (2006) and its spin-off series. Additionally, Gilgun showcased his talent as Rudy Wade in the E4 series **Misfits**.
