Kirstie Louise Alley (January 12, 1951 – December 5, 2022) was a renowned American actress celebrated for her dynamic performances. Alley gained significant recognition for her role as Rebecca Howe on the popular NBC sitcom Cheers, which aired from 1987 to 1993. Her portrayal earned her both an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe in 1991. Following Cheers, she led the cast of the sitcom Veronica's Closet from 1997 to 2000, where she garnered further Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.

During the 1980s and 1990s, Alley showcased her talent in a range of films, including Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982), Summer School (1987), Shoot to Kill (1988), and Look Who's Talking (1989), along with its sequels from 1990 to 1993. Other notable films in her repertoire include Madhouse (1990), Sibling Rivalry (1990), Village of the Damned (1995), It Takes Two (1995), Deconstructing Harry (1997), For Richer or Poorer (1997), and Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999). Alley also won her second Emmy Award in 1994 for her performance in the television film David's Mother.
