

Kyle MacLachlan
Kyle Merritt MacLachlan, born on February 22, 1959, is a distinguished American actor celebrated for his memorable performances in both film and television. He gained widespread acclaim for his iconic role as Dale Cooper in the cult classic TV series Twin Peaks, which aired from 1990 to 1991 and was revived in 2017. MacLachlan also starred in the prequel film, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, released in 1992. His cinematic repertoire includes notable works such as the sci-fi epic Dune (1984), the surreal thriller Blue Velvet (1986), The Hidden (1987), and the controversial Showgirls (1995).
In addition to his film career, MacLachlan has made significant contributions to various television series. He portrayed Trey MacDougal in Sex and the City (2000–2002) and Orson Hodge in Desperate Housewives (2006–2012). He also appeared as The Captain in How I Met Your Mother (2010–2014), the Mayor of Portland in Portlandia (2011–2018), and Calvin Zabo in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2014–2015).
Hailing from Yakima, Washington, MacLachlan was raised in a family with Scottish, Cornish, and German roots. His mother, Catherine, was a public relations director, while his father, Kent Alan MacLachlan, worked as a stockbroker and lawyer. He has two younger brothers, Craig and Kent, who reside in the Pacific Northwest. After graduating from Eisenhower High School in 1977, he earned a degree from the University of Washington in 1982 before venturing to Hollywood to launch his acting career.
