

Lindsay Duncan
Lindsay Vere Duncan, CBE, born on November 7, 1950, is a distinguished Scottish actress known for her remarkable contributions to both stage and television. Over her illustrious career, she has garnered three BAFTA nominations, one of which is from Scottish BAFTA, as well as two Olivier Awards and a prestigious Tony Award for her theatrical performances. Duncan has played notable roles in several of Harold Pinter's plays.
Her filmography boasts an impressive array of titles, including Prick Up Your Ears (1987), The Reflecting Skin (1990), City Hall (1996), and An Ideal Husband, alongside Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, and Mansfield Park, all released in 1999. Other significant film roles include appearances in Under the Tuscan Sun and AfterLife (both 2003), Starter for 10 (2006), Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland (2010), About Time (2013), Birdman (2014), and Blackbird (2019).
In addition to her work on stage and in films, Duncan made notable appearances in television, playing Barbara Douglas in Alan Bleasdale's G.B.H. (1991), Servilia of the Junii in the HBO series Rome (2005–2007), and Adelaide Brooke in the Doctor Who special "The Waters of Mars" (2009). She also took on significant roles as Anjelica Hayden-Hoyle in The Honourable Woman (2014) and Lady Smallwood in Sherlock (2014–2017), along with portraying Elizabeth Longford and Margaret Thatcher in the television films Longford (2006) and Margaret (2009), respectively.
