Lumi Cavazos

Lumi Cavazos, born on December 21, 1968, is a prominent actress from Mexico. She gained significant recognition for her performance as "Tita" in the 1993 film adaptation of Laura Esquivel's acclaimed novel, Like Water for Chocolate. This role earned her the Best Actress awards at both the Tokyo Film Festival and Brazil's Festival de Gramado, capturing the interest of film critics and audiences in the United States and paving her way into Hollywood. Following her newfound success, Cavazos moved to Los Angeles to further her career in the American film industry.

Hailing from Monterrey, Cavazos began her journey in acting at the young age of 15. She made her film debut in Busi Cortes’ 1988 production, El Secreto de Romalia.
