

Mackenyu
Mackenyu (新田 真剣佑), born on November 16, 1996, in Los Angeles, California, is a talented Japanese actor and the son of renowned actor and martial artist Sonny Chiba. He grew up in a culturally rich environment, attending Beverly Hills High School where he excelled in the Advanced Placement Program and explored a variety of interests, such as horseback riding, Yabusame, and Kyokushin Karate, in which he achieved third place at the US Nationals. Mackenyu also showcased his athleticism through gymnastics, water polo, and wrestling, and nurtured his passion for music by playing the piano from the age of ten before joining his high school's brass band as a saxophonist and flutist.
At just 15, he was inspired by Haruma Miura's performance in a film, sparking his determination to act professionally in Japan. This dream came true when he starred alongside Miura in the film adaptation of Gunjō Senki (2021). Mackenyu's career took off with his lead role in Take a Chance (2015) and winning Best Supporting Actor for his work in Tadaima (2015). His breakthrough in Japan came with the role of Eiji Tomari in Kamen Rider Drive: Surprise Future (2015).
Mackenyu made a significant mark in theater with performances in Boys Over Flower (2016), ZEROTOPIA (2018), and Hoshi no Daichi ni Furu Namida (2020). He gained further recognition in films like Chihayafuru: Part I & II (2016), Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018), and as the antagonist Yukishiro Enishi in the Rurouni Kenshin series. His global acclaim soared when he took on the iconic role of Roronoa Zoro in the live-action adaptation of One Piece (2023). Mackenyu's martial arts expertise allows him to perform his own stunts
