

Matthew Modine
Matthew Avery Modine, born on March 22, 1959, is a distinguished American actor and filmmaker. He first gained significant recognition for his role in Robert Altman's acclaimed film *Streamers* (1983), which earned him a shared Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival as part of the ensemble cast. The 1980s marked a prolific period for Modine, as he starred in notable films such as *Birdy* (1984), *Vision Quest* (1985), and *Married to the Mob* (1988). His portrayal of U.S. Marine James T. "Joker" Davis in Stanley Kubrick's iconic *Full Metal Jacket* (1987) further solidified his status in Hollywood.
Throughout his career, Modine has appeared in several other significant films, including *Pacific Heights* (1990), *Short Cuts* (1993), *Cutthroat Island* (1995), *The Dark Knight Rises* (2012), and most recently, *Oppenheimer* (2023).
