Michael Andrew Jace, born on July 13, 1962, is an American former actor known for his role as Julien Lowe, a bisexual Los Angeles Police Officer, in the acclaimed FX series The Shield. His film career includes appearances in notable movies such as State of Play, The Replacements, Forrest Gump, and The Fan, along with various television roles, including the 1995 HBO film Tyson, where he portrayed boxer Mitch Green, and the 1999 Fox movie Michael Jordan: An American Hero.

Jace's life took a tragic turn when he was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department on May 19, 2014, at his residence in Hyde Park, South Los Angeles. This arrest followed a domestic violence report and a 9-1-1 call he made himself, during which he stated, “I shot my wife.” Upon police arrival, they discovered his second wife, April, who had succumbed to gunshot wounds. Following investigations, Jace admitted to the shooting. On May 31, 2016, he was found guilty of second-degree murder, leading to a sentence of 40 years to life in prison on June 10, 2016. He is currently serving his sentence at Corcoran State Prison.
