

Neil Dudgeon
Neil Dudgeon, born on January 2, 1961, in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, embarked on his journey in the performing arts during his time at Danum Grammar School. His passion for acting led him to pursue drama studies at university. Dudgeon's screen debut occurred in 1987, and he gained early recognition for his role as a World War II pilot in the 1988 miniseries *Piece of Cake*, which featured a talented cast including Tim Woodward and Nathaniel Parker.
Throughout his career, Dudgeon has made guest appearances in various popular television series, including *Casualty*, *London's Burning*, and *Lovejoy*. Noteworthy performances include his role as George the Chauffeur in *The Mrs Bradley Mysteries*, an episode in *Inspector Morse*, and parts in *A Touch of Frost* and *Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Silk Stocking*. He also starred in the BBC2 sitcom *Roman's Empire* as the ambitious Roman Pretty in 2007 and has been a staple on the BBC's *Life of Riley* since 2009, portraying the lovable Jim Riley.
In 2010, Dudgeon made his debut in the beloved ITV crime series *Midsomer Murders* as the cousin of the retiring Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby. Following this introduction, he took on the lead role in the series beginning in 2011. Neil Dudgeon is married to radio producer Mary Peate, and together they have two children.
