

Nigel Betts
Nigel Betts is a prominent English actor known for his versatile performances across television and theatre. From 2003 to 2007, he captivated audiences as Eddie Hope on the ITV soap opera Emmerdale. He also showcased his comedic talent as Tony in the BBC Two sitcom Boy Meets Girl and had a memorable recurring role as Mr. Armitage in the eighth series of Doctor Who, as well as its spin-off Class.
Betts has made appearances in a wide array of other British TV shows, including esteemed series such as Downton Abbey, EastEnders, Holby City, Coronation Street, and The Bill. He featured in the acclaimed ITV series Sharpe and garnered attention as a singing bartender in As Time Goes By. Notably, he portrayed Steve Taylor's dry-witted neighbor in Coupling, and in 2016, he took on the role of Brian Teddern in The Coroner. His guest spot in Doc Martin came in 2009, where he played Tommy in the fourth season's eighth episode.
In addition to his television work, Betts has an impressive theatrical portfolio, having performed in various roles for the Royal Shakespeare Company, including during the Gunpowder season. His theatre credits also encompass The 39 Steps and Arthur in the National Theatre's celebrated production of War Horse.
