His career catapulted to fame with his iconic role as the T-1000, a liquid-metal shape-shifter, in James Cameron's 1991 blockbuster, *Terminator 2: Judgment Day*.

Growing up as the eldest of five siblings, Patrick experienced a dynamic upbringing across cities such as Boston, Dayton, and Cleveland. He briefly attended Bowling Green State University in Ohio, where a drama course sparked his passion for acting, prompting him to leave school and pursue a career in the arts. After a near-fatal boating accident in 1984, where he heroically swam for three hours to aid others, Patrick relocated to Los Angeles, where he supported himself by working in a bar and living in his car.

Patrick’s early career included roles in direct-to-video films and a small part in *Die Hard 2* (1990). Following *Terminator 2*, he appeared in notable films like *Last Action Hero* (1993), *Fire in the Sky* (1993), and *Striptease* (1996).
