Roseanne Cherie Barr, born on November 3, 1952, is a multifaceted American actress, comedian, writer, television producer, and director. She began her comedic journey in the 1980s by performing stand-up at clubs in Colorado. Barr's career took a significant turn in 1987 when she landed the lead role in her own sitcom, *Roseanne*. The show was a groundbreaking success, airing for nine seasons from 1988 until 1997. For her performance, Barr received both an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress, along with numerous accolades including six People's Choice Awards and a GLAAD Media Award.
In addition to her television work, Barr appeared in films such as *She-Devil* (1989) and lent her voice to *Look Who's Talking Too* (1991) and the animated feature *Home on the Range* (2004). Following *Roseanne*, she hosted her own talk show, *The Roseanne Show*, from 1998 to 2000, and returned to stand-up comedy in the mid-2000s.
