

Chris Wedge
John Christian Wedge, widely known as Chris Wedge, was born on March 20, 1957. He is an accomplished American filmmaker, animator, and voice actor who has made significant contributions to the animation industry. Wedge gained prominence as the lead animator for the groundbreaking sci-fi film Tron (1982). In addition to his work on Tron, he co-founded Blue Sky Studios, which, despite its eventual closure, was instrumental in shaping animated cinema.
Wedge directed the acclaimed short film Bunny (1998), which earned him an Academy Award for Best Animated Short. He continued to make waves in the animation world with features such as Ice Age (2002), which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature, Robots (2005), and Epic (2013). One of Wedge's most beloved contributions is the character Scrat, the acorn-obsessed saber-toothed squirrel that became a signature figure in the Ice Age franchise from 2002 to 2022.
