

David Morrissey
David Mark Morrissey, born on June 21, 1964, is a distinguished English actor and director known for his diverse range of roles. Originally from the Kensington and Knotty Ash districts of Liverpool, Morrissey honed his acting skills at the Everyman Youth Theatre, where he trained alongside notable talents such as Ian Hart and Cathy Tyson. His breakthrough came at age 18 when he starred in the acclaimed television series *One Summer* (1983), which garnered national attention.
Following this early success, Morrissey furthered his education at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and performed with esteemed companies like the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre. His career flourished throughout the 1990s, with memorable roles including Bradley Headstone in *Our Mutual Friend* (1998) and Christopher Finzi in *Hilary and Jackie* (1998). He received critical acclaim for his performances as Stephen Collins in *State of Play* (2003) and Gordon Brown in *The Deal* (2003), earning a BAFTA nomination and a Best Actor award, respectively.
Despite facing criticism for roles in *Basic Instinct 2* (2006) and *The Reaping* (2007), Morrissey continued to take on significant roles in projects like *Sense and Sensibility* (2008) and the crime drama *Thorne* (2010), which he also produced. As a director, he has created several works, including his feature debut, *Don't Worry About Me*, which premiered at the London Film Festival in 2009.
