Detective Kennex and Dorian delve into the shocking and simultaneous deaths of two genetically enhanced children, known as "chromes," which seem to stem from an overdose of a flawless designer drug. As they dig deeper, a recent drowning victim surfaces, revealing an intriguing link to the case. At the same time, Kennex grapples with haunting memories from his past and seeks the help of a recollectionist to piece together his fragmented recollections.
