Catherine Chandler, a privileged heiress employed at her father's legal practice, departs a lavish gathering prematurely. Mistaken for another individual, she is abducted by a group of criminals. They viciously attack her, inflicting facial wounds before discarding her from their van, believing her to be lifeless. Just then, a mysterious figure emerges from the shadows, rescuing her and whisking her away to a hidden network of abandoned tunnels beneath the bustling streets of New York.
