S9E9 The Assassin

In a secluded castle in Brittany, the enigmatic Hapgood summons Bergerac, seeking his protection and an investigation into various threats against his life. Full recap: During a painting session, gunfire erupts, prompting Bergerac to resign from his role. Undeterred, he continues to dig deeper into the situation and, with help from Charlie's gossip, forces Hapgood to reveal his past as a former assassin who has renounced his violent lifestyle. His current adversary, a successor eager to eliminate him, poses a significant risk. Hapgood hopes to sway this new assassin towards redemption. Later that night, an attack occurs, culminating in Hapgood unintentionally killing his assailant in self-defense. The following morning, with police on the scene, Hapgood reflects on Bergerac's earlier warning: the true identity of the next assassin remains a mystery.
