Fred convinces Shaky Young, an escaped prisoner who’s been living in his sister’s attic for the past fourteen months, to go to his brother's funeral, hoping to profit from the situation. Meanwhile, Bet forms a friendship with a despondent colleague whose wife has left him. On another front, Danny’s romantic evening with Miss Blondel takes an unexpected turn when his brother Michael unexpectedly arrives with a live hand grenade in tow.
