Rodney Francis Cameron, infamously known as ‘The Lonely Hearts Killer,’ used a radio matchmaking show in 1990 to entice a woman to her demise, just after being released from prison for two prior murders in 1974. His violent tendencies emerged early; at just ten, he attempted to strangle a girl and later assaulted two more women while spiraling into substance abuse and dabbling in Satanism. At 19, while employed at a nursing home near Sydney, he murdered nurse Florence Jackson, leaving a towel in her throat—his signature. Afterward, he killed bank clerk Francesco Ciliberto during a hitchhiking trip. Following his capture for abducting a mother and daughter in Queensland, Cameron was sentenced to life imprisonment.
