Known as 'Mr. Sin' and 'the Boss of the Cross', Abe Saffron held tight control over his criminal empire. A relentless womanizer, he even had his son, Alan, placed in the notorious Chelmsford Psychiatric Hospital, cutting him off from his own children. Saffron was linked to various illegal enterprises, including bootlegging, trafficking stolen goods, gambling, prostitution, drug distribution, bribery, extortion, and even murder. While most of the charges he faced were for minor firearms or liquor violations, he ultimately spent seventeen months behind bars for tax evasion before passing away in 2006 at the age of 86.
