As the new year dawns, Ryokushou greets it by selling hanabira mochi, a traditional sweet. They’ve prepared just enough to fulfill pre-orders, but a man shows up unexpectedly without a reservation. After listening to the man express his sentiments about his deceased mother, Nagomu is moved to take action. Later, the entire team from Ryokushou heads to Yamakuni Jinja to partake in hatsumode, marking their first visit to the shrine of the year.
