The cast and crew embark on an overseas adventure, but instead of heading to Venice, writer Toby Whithouse notes that the modern city lacks the charm of its 16th-century counterpart. Instead, they film in Trogir, a picturesque medieval town in Croatia that perfectly resembles ancient Venice. However, Matt Smith and Toby Whithouse do make a trip to Venice, where they meet Francesco Da Mosto. He takes them on a boat tour, showcasing how the city's beauty serves as inspiration for Toby's storytelling.
