In a post 9/11 society, Muslim detective Zane Malik is on the front lines of crime-fighting. When a police officer is murdered, seemingly by two young armed robbers described as 'of Middle Eastern appearance,' Malik taps into his connections within the Arab community to locate the suspects. His pursuit of the truth puts him at odds with Senior Detective Ray Crowley, who accuses him of prioritizing his community over his duties. Though Malik is determined to seek justice for the fallen officer, he understands the struggles of being an Australian Arab and grapples with his own past, where his father's killer was never caught.
