East West 101 (2007)
S1E2 Death at the Station
In Redfern, a dangerous batch of drugs is causing a surge in overdoses among addicts. Local Aboriginal leader and anti-drug activist Adam King is determined to rid the streets of these substances when he is shot, leading many to speculate about an assassination. Detectives Malik and Sonny Koa, who is of Pacific Islander descent, are on a mission to uncover the truth. They face challenges as King's colleagues remain uncooperative, and his family shows outright hostility. Is this simply a lack of trust in law enforcement, or is there a deeper issue at play? Tensions escalate between Malik and Crowley, especially when Malik seeks Crowley’s assistance with informants and is turned down. Unbeknownst to the rest of the team, Crowley’s anger is personal; his son fell victim to the very drugs they’re investigating.
