Akmal is murdered while in prison, prompting Malik to seek answers about his death and that of the NSO agent. Accompanied by the agent’s widow, Malik travels to Canberra, where he encounters a familiar adversary. Meanwhile, his absence complicates matters for the team as they probe into a baffling crossbow homicide. Inspector Wright finds herself balancing her work and personal life, particularly as her own brother becomes the target of an assassination attempt.
