S3E5 The Price of Salvation

Mere Hahunga is in distress over her youngest son, Sam, and seeks the assistance of Detective Koa. Sam is spiraling out of control, and Mere desperately asks Koa to intervene. However, can he reach a young man hell-bent on self-sabotage? Sam has fallen in with Ned Reweti, a Maori criminal. When Koa uncovers Sam's involvement in a brutal robbery that leaves a security guard injured, he fears he can't keep his promise to Mere. Koa finds himself navigating the tightrope between his duties as an officer and his commitment to the community. He tries to guide Sam towards safety by involving him in the investigation, but Sam refuses to betray Reweti, forcing Koa to gather evidence through other means. Reweti mistakenly believes Sam has turned on him and seeks revenge. Koa ultimately fulfills his promise by rescuing Sam, but at a significant cost. Meanwhile, Detective Z
