In 1995, 11-year-old Eddie Huang, a big fan of hip-hop, has relocated with his family from Chinatown in Washington D.C. to the suburbs of Orlando. They soon realize that life in Orlando is a stark contrast to what they are used to. In fact, there’s no Chinatown to be found in the area—unless you consider the Huang household as the local version.
