Micki's former flame, Tim Ayres, arrives in town and quickly raises suspicions. Ryan, feeling a twinge of jealousy, suspects that Ayres is involved with local counterfeiters. However, it soon becomes clear that Ayres is actually an undercover cop. Tragedy strikes when the criminal he’s pursuing ends up murdering the wife of Russ Sharko, who wields Wyatt Earp's cursed sheriff's badge and is taking justice into his own hands by eliminating criminals. In a grim turn of events, both Ayres and Sharko meet their demise, and the cursed badge is ultimately retrieved.
