Meanwhile, Rachel splurges on a pricey sphynx cat, only to find it doesn't live up to her expectations. On another front, Ross and Joey begin tossing a ball to pass the time, but the casual game escalates into an intense rivalry once Monica gets involved, turning their boredom into an all-out competition.
