Rachel decides to purchase an apothecary table from Pottery Barn, sparking tension since Phoebe despises the store's mass production. Meanwhile, after a double date with Chandler and Monica, Janine expresses to Joey her belief that the couple is dull. Ross also acquires an apothecary table, leading to further complications in Rachel's life. Following a heated discussion with Monica and Chandler, Joey decides to end his relationship with Janine, prompting her to move out.
