As the semester wraps up, Ross receives his student evaluations and discovers a compliment from a charming student named Elizabeth, who finds him attractive. Although it poses a risk to his career, Ross contemplates pursuing a relationship with her. Meanwhile, Joey seeks Chandler’s assistance to land an audition for a new Al Pacino film directed by one of Chandler's college ex-girlfriends. In another twist, Phoebe and Rachel face the aftermath of a fire that devastates their apartment, compelling them to seek temporary accommodation with Monica and Joey.
