The group travels to Barbados for a paleontology conference. Ross and Charlie are thrilled to dive into various lectures, but the others are eager to relax by the shore, only to be thwarted by gloomy weather. Yet, the trip proves to be anything but dull. Phoebe realizes she still has lingering feelings for Mike, despite enjoying her time with David. Meanwhile, Rachel grapples with her loneliness as she tries to hide her emotions for Joey, and Chandler finds humor in Monica's hairstyle.
