Ross is thrilled at the prospect of being chosen by Dr. Benjamin Hobart for a prestigious paleontology grant, but there's a catch—Hobart is Charlie's overly possessive ex. Meanwhile, Phoebe is eager to gift her dreadful painting to a hesitant Monica and Rachel. On another front, Chandler finds himself in hot water after he falsely claims to have watched Joey's strange audition tape, leaving Joey feeling hurt and insulted.
