Alan Shepard, the first American to journey into space, finds himself sidelined due to a troubling inner ear condition. As he settles into a seemingly unfulfilling desk position, it appears his days of exploration are over. However, a twist of fate and a surgical procedure open the door to a potential comeback, offering him the opportunity to revitalize the floundering space program.
