Tom's broken leg keeps him from auditioning for Crimewatch UK, leading him to hire a home aide named Shirley (Morgan Jones), who struggles with his own suicidal thoughts and feelings of despair. Meanwhile, Linda is let go from her receptionist position at Fast Track but finds a silver lining when she connects with motorcycle courier Joe (Adrian Bower). However, her excitement is dampened when she learns about his strong religious beliefs.
