Eb shares the exciting news of his engagement to Loreli Appleby, whom he just met the previous day. Eager to win over his future father-in-law, he inadvertently wreaks havoc on the farmer's cabbage field. To make amends and restore his standing, Eb decides to pawn Oliver's cow, Eleanor, using the money to cover the Appleby's mortgage payment.
